A new 5 piece boy band has been formed at The X Factor bootcamp, according to show sources. The new group – who are currently without a name – have been formed from 5 guys who auditioned for the show as solo artists. It is understood the judges formed the new group to help out the groups category, which is traditionally the weakest of the four.

Format changes see more acts go through to judges houses

This year will see EIGHT acts go through to the judges houses stages of the competition to help make Cheryl and Dannii’s decisions “easier and fairer” for both them and the contestants. Furthermore another format change will see the ‘Over 25s’ category become the ‘Over 28s’, with those aged under 28 now joining the Boys and Girls categories.

An official weekly X Factor magazine will begin being published from this September, it has been confirmed. Publisher Haymarket Network won the rights to print the weekly addition to the TV show, which will at first be available exclusively in Tesco’s shops before being rolled out nationwide.
