It’s been reported that it is ‘highly likely’ that X Factor judge Dannii Minouge will not return to The X Factor panel as she is planning to quit the show. According to 3am, the Aussie star is looking to start a family with long term boyfriend Kris Smith down under, but who is rumoured to replace her?

An X Factor source said: “Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it is highly likely Dannii won’t be on the panel next year and Simon is already thinking about a replacement.”

Former Spice Girl Mel B is one of many candidates Simon is thinking about, “He thinks Mel could be brilliant as she is outspoken, down-to-earth and won’t be afraid to hold back. There were times during the current series that he felt things were a bit boring and he is certain sparks will fly with her on board. It will also be interesting to see whether she and Cheryl Cole will gel with each other – or whether it will be handbags at dawn. He thinks it could make compulsive viewing. Louis Walsh is also a huge champion of hers and has been campaigning to get her on the show.”

US R&B singer Kelly Rowland is also in the frame: “Kelly is not as big in the UK as she is in America but then neither was Piers Morgan when he went over there. She has done some TV in the US and she is a natural – plus she knows exactly what she is talking about.”
