Girlband Kandy Rain have become the first act to be sent home from The X Factor. The group, who performed Addicted To Love on Saturday’s live show, were put in the sing off with Rachel Adedeji after both acts received the fewest public votes.
Kandy Rain performed Christina Aguilera’s Fighter in the sing off while Rachel performed Nobody Knows by Pink. As Louis was not present, he was assumed to have voted in Kandy Rain’s favour. Danii too voted for her own act, leaving it up to Simon and Cheryl to decide. Cheryl sent home Kandy Rain while Simon opted to send Rachel home, saying he didn’t think Kandy Rain had been given a fair chance.
As the votes were tied, the act with the lowest percentage of the votes went home, which was Kandy Rain.
Kandy Rain were the bookies favourites to get the kick, following criticism in the press and from the judges over their backgrounds as strippers.
John and Edward, who many wanted to see the back of first, were the first act put through on the results show.
