Robbie Willams a Jedward fan; backs Olly to win.

X Factor fan and chart topper Robbie Williams has revealed he is a fan of twins John nad Edward and would happily pay to see them in at a gig. Williams, who performed his latest single Bodies on the first live results show, also backed Olly Murs to win.

Willaims said: “Here’s the thing. What do you look forward to every week on that programme? For me it’s Jedward.

“I love watching them. If someone said to me I had to go and watch a gig of the X Factor contestants, each one’s doing half an hour and who do you want to see, I’d love to go and watch Jedward.

“I think it’s an entertainment show. People say it’s a singing contest and all that business, but I am entertained by those two. It’s a different kind of entertainment completely. And will they win it? No, I think the joke will probably wear a bit thin, it nearly did [on Sunday].”

Talking to Radio City, Williams backed Olly Murs to win: “He entertains, he’s good-looking, he can sing and he’s funny. And also he’s just a proper lad, a nice guy. I’ve met him and he’s a really lovely lad.”

  1. Robbie needs to get real. If it’s not a singing contest what is it? He may find it entertaining to watch John and Edward, but the whole premise for the show and its predecessor, Pop Idol, was to find an individual or group that could sing and dance. As Cheryl and Danni have both said, watch them yes, but listen to them on the radio?

Robbie doe sum it up in a nutshell though when he says the joke’s wearing thing. Yes it’s a joke. The public are having fun at Simon Cowell’s expense. That’s fine, but now the joke is starting to affect the people with the real talent who have (or had) a shot at winning the show. It’s one thing to wind up Simon who may be arrogant and self-centred, but it’s not fair on the likes of Rachel and Lucie who end up being heart-broken by the fiasco.

The public should be ashamed of themselves for letting it go this far and Simon should be doubly ashamed for allowing it to continue.
