The X Factor final will be a ‘Michael Jackson special’, The Sun claim. Not only will the finalists perform their last songs on the show, but stars including Lady GaGa and Janet Jackson are planning to appear.
It’s been widely rumoured that this year’s winner song may also be a Michael Jackson cover. Other rumours suggest a cover of Miley Cyrus’s The Climb.
The final is due to take place on Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of December, clashing with the BBC’s Sports Personality Of The Year awards.
A BBC source told the Daily Star: “This is no accident. Our Sports Personality of the Year show has been running for over 50 years, the last 20 of which it has gone out in a similar Sunday pre-Christmas slot.
“After all the fuss about Strictly we cannot believe this is accidental. ITV is being greedy.”
An ITV spokesman said: “It has always been our intention that The X Factor live shows would run on Saturdays and Sundays.”
Advertisers estimate that as many as 20 million viewers will tune to see the winner of The X Factor announced this year, but will they match the success of Leona and Alexandra?
