The X Factor finalists have topped both the UK and Irish charts with their charity single, a cover of Michael Jackson’s You Are Not Alone. The single sold over 150,000 copies over the past week, making it one of the fastest selling single this year to date.
X Factor judge Cheryl Cole still retains the record for fastest selling single this year to date, with Fight For This Love selling over 292,000 copies in its first week.
Elsewhere on the charts today, X Factor 2006 winner Leona Lewis drops 2 places to 4 and X Factor 2008 runners up JLS drop 3 places to 6. Cheryl Cole’s single is still in the top 5, dropping 1 place.
In the Irish charts the X Factor finalists knocked off judge Cheryl Cole from the top spot – a place she held for the past 4 weeks!
In the albums charts Leona Lewis’ new album Echo debuts at #1 while JLS drop down to #2.
