X Factor 2010 to avoid Xmas #1 battle?

The final of the 2010 series of The X Factor may be moved a week backwards to avoid another Christmas Number #1 battle, according to reports. On Sunday The X Factor winner Joe lost out on this year’s Xmas #1 after an internet campaign succeeded in getting Rage Against The Machine to the top of the charts.

Joe didn’t seem to mind the result, congratulated Rage and revealing Cheryl had been supportive. He said: “I spoke to Cheryl and she said, ‘you’ve had amazing sales so just be positive’.”

Simon Cowell is reportedly unhappy with the result and aims to avoid any such battle in the future by rescheduling the final. A source said: “If a show that gets 19million viewers can’t muster enough support to beat an online campaign of music snobs, then maybe there is no point aiming for a Christmas No 1 next year.”

Joe is however tipped to gain a number 1 this week in the run up to Christmas.
