Now the final 12 have been officially revealed the bookmakers have put their odds up on who, even before the live shows have begun, they think has a shot of the title this year. Going into the first live show with the final 12, the girls and over 25s dominate the top spots.

Current favourite is Lucie Jones at 7/2 but right behind her is fellow girl category finalist Stacey Solomon at 9/2. Danyl Johnson, who was favourite through the audition stages, is currently at 5/1 followed by Simon Cowell’s other finalists, Jamie Archer and Olly Murs at 6/1 and 7/1 respectively.

Joe McElderry is currently the highest tipped member of the boys category at 10/1, followed by Dannii’s final contestant, Rachel Adedeji at 16/1.

Miss Frank is the highest placed group at 20/1, followed by Cheryl’s other two boys, Lloyd Daniels at 20/1 and Rikki Loney at 33/1.

Louis’ remaining groups finish off the betting, with John and Edward slightly ahead of Kandy rain at 50/1 and 66/1 respectively.

Of course it may all change – favourite Laura White was booted off the show in the early stages last year, much to the shock of fans and the judges.
