Simon Cowell warns Cheryl to reduce her busy work schedule

X Factor boss Simon Cowell has reportedly warned Cheryl Cole to “stop gallivanting around Europe” and instead “get focused” on the return of The X Factor next month. 26-year-old Cole is currently taking part in a European arena tour with her friend’s group The Black Eyed Peas. Last night she performed her second date in Manchester and has further dates in London and France before filming for the new series starts.

An insider said: “Simon is supportive of Cheryl. But he feels she needs to stop gallivanting around Europe and start getting focused on ‘The X Factor’s return. He says the show should come first. He also thinks she’ll be going into the new series utterly exhausted, which is not good for her, the show or Simon.

“This time last year, Cheryl was totally on the pulse with ‘X Factor’ and had even begun choosing all her outfits for the auditions. Her mind is not on it at all this time around.

“Simon is worried she’s been doing too much. He wants her to take some time out and get her head in the right place for what will be an incredibly demanding new series.”

Filming for the new series starts next month on June 9, with the first round of auditions taking place in Glasgow.

The source added: “She is determined to work as hard as she can. That’s how she has dealt with her problems with Ashley.

“Simon has told Cheryl she is the star of the show and that she needs to get back in the zone, and fast.”
