The X Factor judge Simon Cowell has admitted he is sometimes ‘absolutely appalled’ when watching the show back, saying his comments sometimes can go too far. Speaking to his Britain’s Got Talent colleague Piers Morgan, Cowell also said he sometimes found the show ‘very difficult to watch’ with his comments.
Speaking about the TV talent shows he judges, Cowell told Piers: “There’s many, many times where I’ve watched the show back and I’m absolutely appalled – you do the show, you’re not aware of what’s happening in the room outside.”
He went on: “You know, somebody just said ‘My dog Lassie died yesterday’, I’m in a bad mood and, you know, awful, and you see it in that context, it’s very, very difficult to watch.
“You become part of a mob and when you watch the show back you realise that you’ve gone too far,” he explained.
Simon also spoke about Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle: “I don’t think that for one second when I saw that (audition) tape that any of us suddenly went ‘What are the repercussions for her?’
“That’s when you suddenly realise, ‘I haven’t thought about this person as a human being,’ And it was a real wake up call I’ve got to tell you.”
Piers Morgan’s Life Stories with Simon Cowell airs this Saturday on ITV1.

Susan Boyle is an immensely talented lady who’s been subjected to considerable ridicule in the media. IMHO she deserves all of the success that she is currently enjoying.
Glad Simon has had his wake up call. His mother will feel wonderful now he has compassion for others. No mother wants to witness their offspring being ridiculed or subjecting others to ridicule.
