Rumours and wild speculation about the judging line up of The X Factor USA continue with an article in The Mirror which suggests Simon is lining up Cheryl Cole for a £1.5m deal. The now solo star, who split with husband of four years Ashley Cole last month, is said to be Simon’s first choice for the show when it starts in the autumn of 2011.
Simon Cowell is said to want Cheryl Cole for The X Factor USA, according to tabloid reports. The music mogul said he’d love to have the Girls Aloud star on the panel next to him when the first series airs in 2011, saying they have “good chemistry”. Cowell however avoided confirming whether or not Cheryl herself had accepted any offer, giving only a wink to reporters.
Music artists are forced to be part of and embrace shows like The X Factor, singer Paloma Faith has claimed. Describing the music industry as ‘completely run by television’, Faith revealed that artists simply cannot turn down the chance to promote their work in front of 14 million viewers.
The X Factor auditions are to return to Ireland for the first time in four years, according to tabloid reports. Irish auditions were scrapped in 2006 followed by the blocking of Irish residents from voting in 2008 after a number of TV voting scandals.
