X Factor 2007 runner up Rhydian Roberts has quit Simon Cowell’s Syco record label with which he has released two albums, it has been confirmed. The classical Brit award nominated artist said that Syco was longer the best label for his music, insisting he wanted to be taken seriously as a singer.
Pop girl group The Saturdays want to see more successful girl bands come out of The X Factor, according to reports. Groups have always had limited success from The X Factor, with only JLS and G4 going on to have any sort of career after the live shows. A girl group has yet to make it any further than Week 7, usually leaving in the first two weeks.

Winner of the 2007 X factor contest, Leon Jackson, has revealed he is backing fellow Scot Rikki Loney in this years series. Jackson first noticed Rikki in last year’s series when he was sent home at the bootcamp stages.
Former X factor contestant Niki Evans has branded the show for being ageist and sexist. Niki, who made it through to the live shows in 2007, claims that it is impossible for an older woman to win the show.
