Joe McElderry has revealed that he is “itching to get started” on his debut album, which he will start recording next week. The 19-year-old told The Sun that he isn’t worrying about becoming a flop, and instead hasn’t actually come to terms with winning the show last year.

Lucie Jones records charity single for Cancer Research UK
X Factor 2009 finalist Lucie Jones is to record on a charity record to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. The 18-year-old will join Kym Marsh, Danielle Lloyd, Sonique and actress Caroline Quentin among others on the track, a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s track Girls Just Wanna Have Fun which will be released April 26.
Olly Murs to sign six-figure deal with Epic Records
Olly Murs is set to sign a six-figure record deal with Epic, it has been reported. The runner up is in talks with the label who turned last year’s runners up JLS into a chart success. The news comes after it was revealed last week that Simon Cowell’s Syco label would not be signing anyone other than Joe.
Jedward to release 'Under Pressure' on January 31st
Twins John and Edward will be releasing their debut single ‘Under Pressure’ for download on January 31st and to buy in shops on February 15th. The single also features Vanilla Ice who they performed the song with live on the National Television Awards this evening where The X Factor won the gong for Best Talent show.

Twins John and Edward, or Jedward, will be performing at this year’s National Television Awards according to reports. It will be the duo’s first live televised performance since they were voted out of The X Factor in week 7 back in November last year.
Joe gets the New Year number 1
Despite being beaten to number 2 last week, Joe has climbed to take the last number 1 of the decade with close to 200,000 sales of his single The Climb. Rage Against The Machine held onto second place while Cheryl Cole’s new single entered the top 5.
