X Factor winner Joe McElderry has described the current X Factor live arena tour as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime chance’ as he sings to crowds of over 12,000 people. However Joe has admitted he hasn’t had the best of starts to the tour, with mishaps and problems plaguing the first few dates in Liverpool and Birmingham last week.
Dannii Minogue has confirmed she will not be returning to take part in the audition stages of The X Factor 2010. The judge revealed she’ll be living in Australia for her pregnancy, which is said to be filmed for an ITV2 reality TV show. While Dannii won’t be at the auditions, she has said she’d still love to be part of the show in some capacity.

X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary is reportedly in talks to front the US version of the show which is due to start in 2011. O’Leary has been talking to show bosses on Los Angeles this week to discuss his involvement in the new programme, according to The Sun.
Soap star and former reality TV winner Kym Marsh has revealed that The X Factor would be her dream job, after taking part in ITV’s Popstar to Operastar. The former member of group Hear’Say, formed on Popstars in 2001, said she could empathise with contestants having been there herself before.
The live arena auditions, in front of 3,000-strong crowds, will stay for the next series of The X Factor later this year, it has been reported. The new audition format was first used last year and came under criticism from both fans and past X Factor finalists. Ratings however showed that the new format worked, with around 700,000 more viewers tuning in throughout the audition stages.
British folk singer Richard Thompson has criticised The X Factor, claiming its stars like Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke can’t sing and ‘lack musical intelligence’. Speaking to BBC’s Hardtalk programme, Thompson said X Factor contestants couldn’t actually sing songs, despite having good voices.
Classical singer and Popstar to Operastar judge Katherine Jenkins has expressed an interest in becoming an X Factor judge to replace pregnant Dannii Minogue. According to The People, Jenkins said she is ready for Simon to come and get her to fill in for the Aussie popstar later this year.
Olly Murs is set to sign a six-figure record deal with Epic, it has been reported. The runner up is in talks with the label who turned last year’s runners up JLS into a chart success. The news comes after it was revealed last week that Simon Cowell’s Syco label would not be signing anyone other than Joe.
