X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary is reportedly in talks to front the US version of the show which is due to start in 2011. O’Leary has been talking to show bosses on Los Angeles this week to discuss his involvement in the new programme, according to The Sun.
Soap star and former reality TV winner Kym Marsh has revealed that The X Factor would be her dream job, after taking part in ITV’s Popstar to Operastar. The former member of group Hear’Say, formed on Popstars in 2001, said she could empathise with contestants having been there herself before.
The live arena auditions, in front of 3,000-strong crowds, will stay for the next series of The X Factor later this year, it has been reported. The new audition format was first used last year and came under criticism from both fans and past X Factor finalists. Simon Cowell has admitted that fellow judge Cheryl Cole is ‘one of the best’ he has ever worked with and he’s ‘annoyed’ with her success. Speaking to new! this week, Cowell said that Cheryl had a ‘rare talent’ but refused to confirm whether she would be taking part in X Factor USA.
