Tearful auditionee Gamu Nhengu impressed The X Factor panel at the Glasgow auditions on tonight’s show, winning a place at bootcamp. The 18-year-old, who moved to Scotland from Zimbabwe in 2005, wowed judges Simon, Cheryl, Louis and guest judge Geri with her version of ‘Walking On Sunshine’.
The X Factor returns to our screens tonight (August 21) at 7:30PM for what is set to the be the biggest series to date. With just a little over a day to go until The X Factor returns to our TV screens we have a sneak peak at what to expect when the show launches tomorrow. Duo G&S (Gay & Straight) show the judges what they’re made of, while in Glasgow Stephen Hunter is a hit with the panel, including guest judge Geri Halliwell!
Simon Cowell has said he is still glad he changed The X Factor’s audition format to feature a live audience, saying it has ”re-energised the auditions”. Despite Cowell’s comments lots of fans and viewers of the programme feel the new format is “less personal”, Simon however defended the return of the audience for this year’s programme.
The X Factor will return to our screens with a bang tomorrow with judges Simon and Cheryl at war exchanging insults with one another. Cowell brands the Geordie judge a “spoilt brat” and even goes as far as to pour her a saucer of milk as a joke about her “catty” remarks towards this year’s contestants.
The X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has said she can’t wait to return to the show and film the judges’ houses stage of the competition later this week. Speaking in a video message at the show’s press launch this morning, Cole apologised for missing the auditions and bootcamp but said she was looking forward to see which contestants made the chop.

The eighth series of The X Factor will not start until November 2011, according to tabloid reports. Plans for the future series are already well underway with auditions, usually held in February onwards, currently being put back until the summer. It’s understood the late starting date will allow Cowell to focus on the launch of the US version of the programme.
