Simon Cowell has quit American Idol so he can work on launching The X Factor in the USA, according to reports. The music mogul will sit on the panel for the final time when the ninth series starts this week before leaving to launch The X Factor in the fall of 2011.
Mel B has added fuel to the rumours that she is being lined up to replace current judge Dannii Minogue, who is expected to leave the show to start a family. Speaking in an interview with Hello magazine, the former Spice Girl refused to confirm or deny the rumours of her joining the show later this year.
Twins John and Edward, or Jedward, will be performing at this year’s National Television Awards according to reports. It will be the duo’s first live televised performance since they were voted out of The X Factor in week 7 back in November last year.
X Factor judge Cheryl Cole is said to be ‘undecided’ on a return to the show later this year, according to reports. The Girls Aloud singer and solo star is already hard at work promoting her album 3 words across Europe, with plans to crack the US and to get back with Girls Aloud for a sixth album, will there be time for The X Factor?

X Factor judge is reportedly pregnant with her first baby, according to tabloid reports today. The Aussie singer was previously rumoured to be planning to quit the show to start a family with Kris Smith. According to The Mirror however, Dannii’s first child is expected in the summer.
X Factor stars including winner’s and judges have dominated the list of the biggest selling singles of the past decade, with 2006 winner Leona Lewis featuring three times. This year’s winner Joe McElderry also manages to get onto the list despite his single only being available to buy for two weeks of the 10 years.
Despite being beaten to number 2 last week, Joe has climbed to take the last number 1 of the decade with close to 200,000 sales of his single The Climb. Rage Against The Machine held onto second place while Cheryl Cole’s new single entered the top 5.
The final of the 2010 series of The X Factor may be moved a week backwards to avoid another Christmas Number #1 battle, according to reports. On Sunday The X Factor winner Joe lost out on this year’s Xmas #1 after an internet campaign succeeded in getting Rage Against The Machine to the top of the charts.
X Factor winner Joe McElderry’s debut single, The Climb, has debuted at number 2 in the official UK charts, missing out on Christmas number 1. Joe is the first winner since the original series not to debut at number 1 after an internet campaign was set up to stop The X Factor monopoly.
