JLS’ debut single tops the charts
4 piece boy band JLS, who finished 2nd in last year’s show behind Alexandra Burke, have shot straight to the top of the charts with their debut single “Beat Again” which sold over 100,000 copies in the last week alone – 46,000 on its first day of release.

Cheryl told to lose accent for US
Simon Cowell has reportedly paid for elocution lessons for X Factor judge Cheryl Cole after TV producers fear America audiences wouldn’t understand her Geordie accent, according to The Mirror. Cowell is very close to landing a deal for Cole with NBC for the US version of the X Factor which is expected to air next year.

Cowell’s bodyguard Tony axed
Simon Cowell’s personal bodyguard, Tony Adkins, has been axed from the new series of The X Factor, replaced by a new 3 strong security team. Adkins, who also works for Britain’s Got Talent, has become a celebrity in his own right in past series after booting off lippy auditionees from the show.
Rejects given second chance as band
4 male solo artists have joined forces to become a band, dubbed “The Rejects”, after 3 of them failed to make it through the auditions on their own. None of the singers had met before the auditions yet bonded whilst in the queues and vowed to try as a band should they fail individually, according to The Sun.
Madonna, Gaga, Rihanna lined up for X Factor
Madonna is just one of the many big names who are lined up for performances on this year’s X Factor. Other names include quirky Lady Gaga, who has shot from a nobody to chart topper in just a year after her hit single’s “Just Dance” and “Poker face”, Umbrella singer Rihanana and ex-Take That star Robbie Williams are also rumoured to be in talks for performances on the show.
Cole, Walsh lined up for X Factor USA
According to reports both Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh have been lined up by Simon Cowell to star in a series of X Factor based in the US which he hopes will air next year. The Sun’s TVBiz reports that Simon wants the X Factor to be a “friendly rival” to Pop Idol where he is currently a judge.
Eoghan Quigg set to be dropped from label
Eoghan Quigg is reportedly set to be dropped by his record label, RCA, after only 6 months since he finished third place in last year’s X Factor final.
