With just days to go until The X Factor returns to our screens, Aussie Judge Dannii Minogue chats about the upcoming series. Even though she wasn’t at this auditions while she had her first baby, Dannii says she can’t wait to jump back in – and also reveals how she would audition to win over the judges. X Factor boss Simon Cowell has reportedly told judges Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue to ‘toughen up’ ahead of the live shows, saying the programme is not about their ‘style war’. According to News Of The World, Simon is hoping that the panel this year will give more honest, constructive criticism to all of the acts.
This year will see EIGHT acts go through to the judges houses stages of the competition to help make Cheryl and Dannii’s decisions “easier and fairer” for both them and the contestants. Furthermore another format change will see the ‘Over 25s’ category become the ‘Over 28s’, with those aged under 28 now joining the Boys and Girls categories.

Pregnant Dannii, who is due to give birth very soon, is said to want to spend more time in her home country before returning to the UK for the live shows in October.

Kylie Minogue has admitted that she was offered a judging role on this year’s X Factor but turned it down, saying that it was ‘Dannii’s thing’. The Aussie popstar also put the snub down to her new album, Aphrodite, which is planned for a July release in the middle of the auditions.
Cheryl Cole last night denied rumours that there was rivalry between her and fellow judge Dannii over pay cuts. Speaking to a radio station, the 26-year-old said she and Dannii got on really well.
Mel B has dropped the biggest hint yet that she will have a place on this year’s X Factor judging panel. The former Spice Girl said in her latest interview she couldn’t talk about the show, adding an announcement will be made soon and then “we’ll all know!”
Lady GaGa has agreed to take part in this year’s X Factor as a guest judge at the audition stages, according to tabloid reports. GaGa is just one of the big stars lined up to replace Dannii Minogue while she has her baby in Australia, other names in the mix include Paula Abdul and former Spice Girl Mel B.
